Our Crochet Universe… Nadine and Danielle of Mère et Fille tricots!

With my « Crochet Universe » project, I have the chance to get to know more about my Francrochet collegues and this month I had a chat with Nadine Taylor about the business her and her mom share; Mère et Fille tricots. Click here to read our mini interview! (French only)
I’ll say this first, Mère et Fille tricots has a very colorful universe that immediatly called out to me.
And when Nadine asked me if I would design Mini Nadine after her Super Heroine avatar (art by Gregory Woronchak (also on Instagram)… I had no hesitation!
I had SO MUCH fun working up this tiny doll!
Honestly, making mini Nadine (and mini Danielle) was a creative break in itself! It was just a ton of fun!
I really felt lucky to spend this time in their colorful universe.
I became aware of Mère et Fille tricots through Francrochet and I was immediatly fascinated by their Twiddles Muffs, a product that was just completely foreign to me.
If you want to give Google translate a spin, Nadine mentions in her interview that her wish for 2021 is for their concept to become more widely known!
Once I got my pens out to plan for mini Nadine and mini Danielle, I immediatly knew I was not going to be disappointed… bright colors are so inspiring!
Though I did not have to make up my own concept for mini Nadine since I had access to Grégory‘s work, I still had mini Danielle to think about…
Which was also very easy to figure out since we share a passion for stuffies!
I already had a good idea of how I wanted to make mini Danielle, but I absolutely wanted to add a little reference to Mère et Fille Tricots’ adorable headband patterns. This is when it was decided that mini Danielle would be crowned!
All in all, I was completely taken with Nadine and Danielle’s work! After all they offer both the amazing Twiddles muffs but also washcloths with Quebec’s favorite swear words!
