With my « Crochet Universe » project, I have a unique opportunity to explore my Francrochet collegues from a different angle and this month I had the pleasure to crochet a mini Jennifer of Akroche Tatuk. Click here to read our mini interview! (French only)
I’ll confess I didn’t know much about Amy when I got started on this project aside from my impression that she’s always working on multiple things and that her visual presence on social media is superb!
So I was very happy when she signed up to be a part of Our crochet Universe because I just knew it would be so much fun to crochet tiny Amy.
Then she told me her favorite color was yellow and well… bird of a feather flock together, am I right?
Luckily, I had all the perfect colors to put together tiny Amy and give her a thick yellow sweater and classic jeans!
Of course, given that Les Mailles à Mailloux is really well known for her great scrunchies, tiny Amy simply had to have her very own.
Another element that was important were Amy’s glasses… and this time I really wanted to try something other than embroidery…
So I gathered all my courage and a few supplies… as well as my very limited supply of faith in my habilities lol!
And I really should have better faith in my crafting because these glasses just turned out ADORABLE!
Of course we should probably thank this random video on youtube where I saw someone using a pen to shape their wire. Idon’t remember who… I’m a terrible human being, I know.
A whole new world of possibilities is now open to me! Glasses for everyone!!
All joking aside, what I love about Our crochet Universe is that each of these little dolls help me explore my amigurumi and find all these little details that help me create a unique doll… and when I get to see the recipient connect with their doll, it’s very difficult to accuratly describe just how great it makes me feel!
Do you think Amy enjoyed meeting tiny Amy?
