Un petit cadeau d’automne…

** Cliquez ici pour la version française **

Available since June 2015, this adorable fox mug cozy was one of my first cozy designs… and probably the one I’ve made the most over the years!

Did you crochet your little fox already? I’m contemplating the idea of putting together an E-book with all my current mug cozy patterns… as well as a few more that I kept as exclusives designs for ready-to-ship items back when I was active on Etsy… So, what do you think? Leave a comment about it!

ch – chain
sl – slip stitch
HDC – half double crochet

4.5 mm hook
Buttons for closure (1) and eyes. You could also use felt or embroidery thread for the eyes.
Worsted weight yarn

orange (less than 10g)
white (less than 10g)
black (less than 5g)

Gauge & instructions
The cozy will be about 10 inches long (including the button tab) by 3 inches tall, this is about 3 stitches x 2.5 rows = 1 inch square. The cozy is worked flat.

Row 1) With orange yarn, ch 26 and turn
Row 2-5) HDC to end, ch 2 and turn (24). After row 4, change to white yarn.
Row 6-7) HDC to end, ch 2 and turn (24) after last row, finish off and weave in ends.

Closing tab
Join orange or white yarn at the end of row 3, ch 12, sl to the end of row 5. This will for the loop that will allow you to close your cozy around your mug. Finish off, weave in ends.

Row 1) Join orange yarn on row 5, on the 13th stitch from the beginning, ch 2, HDC x 3, ch 2 and turn (3)
Row 2) HDC x 3 (3)
Finish off leaving long tail and sew the snout to the cozy.

Using a length of black yarn (about 18 inches), embroider the nose by stitching the end of the snout to the cozy. Weave in ends.

Sew the closure button, add eyes and voilà!
