In december I got Bravely Default II as a birthday gift and it’s been keeping me company since then! I fell in love with the game after trying the demo and it reminded me a lot of Octopath travelers, which I also adored.
While I was puting together my next fan art, I was derailed by the thought that I should probably go ahead and make one about my favorite team of Heroes of light!
I won’t go into a lot of details about the game, mostly because we’d be here for ever, but there are different job/roles we can give each character. These jobs give the characters different abilities… and adorable costumes!
The fan art potential was extraordinary!
Seth (Freelancer)
The first character is Seth (default name), a sailor! I chose to make him with his freelancer/sailor outfit because he kind of look like a pirate and it was simply too adorable.
There’s also the fact that when I started the project most of the other jobs I gave him had intricate heavy armor that would have been a nightmare to crochet.
Fan art is supposed to be fun and stress free so…
Gloria (white mage)
Next I worked on Gloria, who is my best healer! I hesitated because I also like her in other roles, but in the end I always came back to the white mage!
Aside from the embroidery, it was a pretty simple costume to put together!
Elvis (black mage)
When we first meet Elvis, he’s already a black mage and I kept him as one for most of the game, thus it seemed logical to stick with it for the fan art project!
Elvis was one of my absolute favorite character with his charming positivity… and his adorable banter with his bodyguard, the lovely Adelle.
Adelle (Freelancer)
The last character I worked on was Adelle who is tiny, but has a fiery personnality. I had a hard time figuring out which roles to give her while playing the game, but once I unlocked the beastmaster job I started to have more fun with her.
However the costume would have been very detailed and given how tiny the dolls are… barely 3 inches tall… I got intimidated and decided to stick with her freelancer outfit.
It’s still a very cute outfit, but it was easier to make!
When I started to write this post I wasn’t done with the game, but I just finished i his morning and I have to say I had a great time… but I was quite ready to be done with the game lol! I won’t give any spoilers, but… 😉
My game list for 2022 is already quite long, but I can always be persuaded to give anything a try so… what do you suggest?
