Gauge and instructions
Gauge isn’t important as long as you make sure to use the appropriate hook for your yarn so that the stuffing doesn’t show through the stitches. All parts are worked continuously so that you don’t have to join at the beginning of each round. Be careful to count the stitches as you go or use a stitch marker.
Body
Round 1) With red work 6 sc in a magic ring and join to work in the round (6)
Round 2) 2sc around (12)
Round 3) *2sc, sc* around (18)
Round 4) *2sc, sc in the next 2* around (24)
Round 5) *2sc, sc in the next 3* around (30)
Round 6) *2sc, sc in the next 4* around (36)
Rounds 7-11) sc around (36 stitches – 5 rounds) Change to white after last round.
Rounds 12-19) sc around (36 stitches – 8 rounds) Change to blue after last round.
Attach eyes between rounds 14 and 15 with a 4-5 stitches gap in between. Embroider the mouth and rosy cheeks.
Rounds 20-27) sc around (36 stitches – 8 rounds)
Round 28) 2sc-tog in the back loop only, around (18) Stuff firmly.
Round 29) 2sc-tog around (9)
Round 30) *2sc-tog, sc* around (6) Finish off leaving a long tail for assembly.
Stick
Round 1) With beige/light brown work 8 sc in a magic ring and join to work in the round (8)
Rounds 2-7) sc around (8 stitches – 6 rounds) You can add more rounds if you want. Finish off, weave in ends.
Assembly
Insert the stick into the body and use the tail to sew everything closed. Weave in remaining ends.
