Gauge & instructions
Gauge isn’t important as long as you make sure to use the appropriate hook for your yarn so that the stuffing doesn’t show through the stitches. All parts are worked in a continuous round, meaning that you don’t have to join at the beginning of each round. Be careful to count your stitches as you go or to use a marker.

Assembly
Sew the ears on both sides of the head, slightly off center and towards the back of the head (about round 26) and then sew the horn centered between the ears, but 3 rounds to the front (around round 23). You will sew around the base of the horn in a circle (so about from round 23 to 20). Weave in all ends. Sew the head to the neck of the body, secure it tightly because the mane will be quite heavy.
You will now sew the arms of your doll on both sides of the body, near the neckline and then the legs to the underside of the body, but more towards the back. This will allow your doll to sit up when propped against something.
Mane
This section will depend a bit on your chosen yarn. I used a thick and thin art yarn and a 6mm crochet hook to obtain a 5 inches long x 1.5 inches wide rectangular base piece to which I attached long strands (22 to 24 inches long – they will be folded in half when attached) of my chosen yarn. I then pulled the strands through the base piece (so the knots are hidden). The base piece in then sewn to the back of the head.

Tail
Cut 15-30 strands (depending on your yarn of choice, a thinner yarn will require more strands to make a full tail) about 20 inches in length.
Weave the bundle through 3-4 stitches around the bum area and knot securely in place.
Trim and you’re done!

Tutu
With white (or any color of choice) chain 50 stitches, finish off and weave in ends.
Cut ten(10) 12 to 18 inches long stripes of tulle and tie to the chain.
Tie around your unicorn’s waist and you’re done!
