Free pattern – Amigurumi swing!

What could be better than an adorable little hanging nest to display your amigurumi? This pattern is worked quickly and the resulting swing will allow you to hang your amigurumi everywhere!

| Abbreviations CC – Color of choice st(s) – stitch(es) sc – single crochet 2sc – two single crochet in the same stitch (+1) HDC – half double crochet 2HDC – two half double crochet in the same stitch (+1) DC – double crochet [stitches presented in brackets are worked in the same stitch] | Material 2,5 mm crochet Yarn needle Yarn – fingering weight, shown here in Scheepjes Catona Brown – less than 5 g Green – less than 5 g CC – less than 5 g |
Gauge & instructions
Gauge isn’t important; make sure to use the appropriate hook for your yarn so that the stuffing isn’t visible. All parts are worked continuously, you don’t have to join at the beginning of each round so count the stitches as you go or use a stitch marker.
*The swing is meant to hang with the amigurumi agaisn’t a wall for balance. If you mean to have the amigurumi hanging « free », you may have to sew it in the nest and sew the cord to each side of the amigurumi to avoid it flipping over.
Instructions
Base (nest)
Round 1) With brown yarn, work 10 sc in a magic ring and join to work in the round (10)
Round 2) 2HDC around (20)
Round 3) *2HDC, HDC* around (30)
Round 4) HDC around (30)
Round 5) in the back loop only, HDC around (30)
Rounds 6-7) HDC around (30) You can add more rounds if you want a deeper nest. Do not finish off, work the cord.

Cord
Row 1) at the end of round 7, ch 50 (you can make a longer/shorter chain if you want), skip 15 stitches, sl in the next stitch. Finish off and weave in ends.
Small leaf – Make 2 (or more!)
Round 1) With green yarn, work 4 sc in a magic ring and join to work in the round (4)
Round 2) 2sm, [sc, DC], [DC, sc], 2sc (8) Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing the leaf to the swing/nest.
Flower – Make 1 (or more!)
Row 1) With CC, ch 20, turn, 2HDC to end (or 2sc for a smaller flower).
Finish off leaving a long tail, curl work on itself to form a rose and sew secure before sewing to the swing/nest.
