It’s become a sort of tradition for me to put together a few fan art dolls for my daughter’s birthday and her 14th is coming up real soon. This year I didn’t quite know what to make for her, but a few weeks back she was talking about a series she adores and it seemed like a good universe to explore!
The series in question? The Owl House! An adorable cartoon series about magic, difference, friendship and found family.

I was thrilled because it’s been a while since I had a project that gave me the opportunity to customise safetye yes.
This is also the moment I discovered that my paint pens had been… very well loved by my other daughter.
Perfect excuse to order a whole new set lol!
I also noticed that I lost the habit of taking pictures of my progress as I work to use them when I post about the project…
I’m just glad I remembered to snap a quick picture before I started sewing all these parts!
I know, I’m an incredible photographer lol!
Also, I kind of wanted to weep at the thought of all the assembly required by those three tiny doll…

Once everything was put together I was super happy to be finally done… and then I realized I was missing a key character… King!
I debated simply not making him, but I could practically feel her deception… better bite the bullet and get my crochet hook back in hand!
I decided to use my Minimanimals pattern as a base for this character and it turned out pretty cute!
I did have a hard time with the black embroidery around the eyes, if I ever have to remake one I think I could paint it instead.

Do you think my teenager will enjoy this little collection?

I already have many ideas for other fan art projects… hopefully I will be able to get to them soon!
