Abbreviations
st(sts) – stitch(stitches)
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
2sc – two single crochet in the same stitch (+1)
2sc-tog – single crochet two stitches together (-1)
DC – double crochet
3DC – three double crochet in the same stitch (+2)
CC – color of choice
Material
5 mm hook
Yarn of choice – worsted weight (#4)
Headband – about 20g
Ears – about 16g
Horn – about 10g
Mane – about 60g
Yarn needle
Polyester stuffing (for the horn)
Plastic headband

Gauge & instructions

Gauge isn’t important as long as you make sure to use the appropriate hook for your yarn so that the stuffing (horn) or plastic headband doesn’t show through the stitches. All parts are worked continuously so that you don’t have to join at the beginning of each round.

Headband
Round 1) With CC, work 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Round 2) 2sc, sc in the next 2 around (8)
Rounds 3-47) sc around (8) Insert the plastic headband into the tube. You can add more
rounds if needed.
Round 48) 2sc-tog, sc in the next 2 around (6)
Round 49) 2sc-tog until opening is closed.

Finish off, sew close and weave in ends.

Ears (make 2)
Round
1) With CC, work 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Round 2) 2sc, sc in the next 2 around (8)
Round 3) 2sc, sc in the next 3 around (10)
Round 4) 2sc, sc in the next 4 around (12)
Round 5) 2sc, sc in the next 5 around (14)
Round 6) 2sc, sc in the next 6 around (16)
Rounds 7-8) sc around (16) Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing to the headband.

Horn
Round 1) With CC, work 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Round 2) 2sc, sc around (9)
Round 3) sc around (9)
Round 4) 2sc, sc in the next 2 around (12)
Rounds 5-6) sc around (12)
Round 7) 2sc, sc in the next 3 around (15)
Rounds 8-9) sc around (15) Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing to the headband.

Stuff lightly. You can wrap a length of yarn around the horn in a spiral for decoration.

Mane (4 shorts, 2 longs)
Row 1) With CC, ch 42(62), turn and starting 2 sts from hook, DC to end 40(60)
Row 2) ch 2, turn, 3DC in each stitch to end.

Finish off leaving a long tail for assembly. Use the tails to sew the curls to the headband, sew along the sides as
well to give the mane a natural line.

You can wear the mane down or tie it in the back!
