Creative break – Good Omens
I have to admit that I’ve been watching a
scary impressive amount of media content in the last few years. I guess it’s one of the advantages of working from home and not having to really look at my hands to get my work done! It also means I’m not susbscribed to quite a few streaming services (because, well… I’m not really watching tv anymore) and the last of them to make its debut in our home is prime video (Amazon).
Now, this post is not sponsored or affiliated, but hey… if Amazon (or Netflix, or Disney?) would like to chat… I’m opened! All jokes aside, I watch a lot of shows… any shows really.
A really big hit with me on this new platform was Good Omens. Of course: David Tennant. No, really, that’s pretty much all that is required for an instant watch from me. Though I have to say that David Tennant and Michael Sheen have the most delicious on screen chemistry and even my husband loved the show.
In fact, he’s the one who suggested I do a fan art post about it! Yes please!
This project required a lot more embroidery than my previous ones, mostly because of Aziraphale’s adorable little vest.
I would have loved to make a more detailed bowtie, but with a doll this size… details are hard! Overall, I’m quite happy with how this little guy turned out!’
Of course I couldn’t just make the adorable angel that make up the incredible duo at the center of Good Omens! Crowley was a bit harder to make, however, mostly because I was having a hard time finding the right color for his fiery locks. In the end, I chose a burnt orange because I wanted to avoid him looking like a long lost Weasley.
I also decided to give him long hair because it was just perfect with his whole rebel vibe… and also because it gave me an excuse to work on a new hairstyle!
When I started this project, I had already made angel wings before (Hey there Castiel!), but I still used the opportunity to work on my technique. They are far from perfect, but I actually like the fact that they aren’t perfectly symetrical.
As I am writting these lines all that is missing for this to be the most perfect fan art EVER (lol) are Crowley’s adorable round sunglasses… who knows, by the time this is set to publish, maybe I’ll have found a way to put them together!
